What we collect

How we use your data

• Provide and operate The Wine Atlas app.
• Save and organise your cellar and tasting history.
• Run label recognition and tasting summaries.
• Run learning lessons, save course progress, and award course badges.
• Respond to support requests.
• Maintain security and prevent abuse.

AI learning connectors

The Wine Atlas Learning connector lets you use learning content from The Wine Atlas inside supported AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude.

If you choose to connect it, the assistant can read your learning course status with The Wine Atlas, membership tier, unlocked lesson content, assessment criteria, and previous course progress. It can also record completed lesson results, scores, written result summaries, and related course progress back to your account with The Wine Atlas.

The learning connector does not access your cellar, tasting notes, label images, events, friends, public profile setup, or payment card details.

You can disconnect the connector through ChatGPT or Claude. Disconnecting stops the assistant from using the connector, but it does not delete course progress already recorded in your account with The Wine Atlas.

If you think a lesson answer, score, progress record, or course explanation is incorrect, contact us at support@thewineatlas.com. We can review course progress records and correct inaccurate account records where appropriate.

Financial information

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card details. The only monetary data we store is the wine purchase price you choose to enter for your own records. This is optional and used solely for your cellar tracking.

Data deletion

You can delete records inside the app at any time. You can also request full account deletion by emailing support@thewineatlas.com. When you delete data, we do not retain it beyond what is required for short-term operational integrity and legal obligations (if any).

Access controls (RLS)

We use row-level security (RLS) in our database to ensure users can only access their own data (and any explicitly shared cellars or events). Administrative access is limited and audited.

Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We only share data with service providers required to run the platform, legal authorities if required by law, and event participants when you explicitly take part in shared tastings or cellars.

Retention

We keep your data only as long as your account remains active or until you delete it. If you request deletion, we remove your data.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Email support@thewineatlas.com to exercise these rights.
